Increasingly gay men are taking their spiritual lives more seriously. The journey
inward is both complex and exciting, it is best traveled with companions and guides.
This highly experiential program is offered as a resource for men to experience
support on the journey. Some areas explored in this program include:
Consciousness and creativity.
An exploration of our life purpose.
Choosing a spiritual practice and discipline.
The relationship between personality, psyche and soul.
A deeper understanding of the spiritual dimension of our lives.
Movement, bodywork and breathwork as tools for personal transformation.
Course Format: The program will meet over a nine month period. We begin with a residential weekend retreat, October 1-3, 1999 and one meeting per month throughout the year, on Wednesday evenings 7:30-10pm. (Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Jan. 5, Feb. 2, March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7) The course will conclude with a daytime workshop on June 17, 2000 from 12-5pm.
Course Tuition: $900 to be paid in three, installments. $400 by October 1, $250
in December and $250 in March. Tuition includes the residential retreat (meals and
lodging) evening meetings and workshop as well as course materials. Books are extra.
John is the founder and director of Brothers Together an organization which provides
growth opportunities, personal transformation and community building events for men
who love men. He is a licensed bodywork therapist in private practice, he was trained
in spiritual psychology at The Concord Institute. He regularly teaches classes in
massage, breathwork and meditation. John has extensive training in body-mind approaches
to therapy, specializing in the integration of bodywork, psychotherapy and spirituality.
He has led many workshops on healing, spirituality and men’s issues. John has a
deep passion for life and shares this passion with the men with whom he works.
Annually he leads programs throughout the USA, on St John USVI and Costa Rica.
